Look, we get it – nobody really enjoys reading these things. But here at ShadowFlare, we're pretty serious about keeping your info safe and being straight with you about what we do with it. So grab a coffee and let's walk through this together.
When you reach out to us or check out our work, we might collect a few things – your name, email, phone number, and whatever details you share about your project. If you're filling out a contact form or sending us an inquiry, that's the kind of stuff we're talking about.
We also gather some technical bits automatically through cookies and analytics – like your IP address, browser type, and how you navigate around our site. Nothing creepy, just helps us understand what's working and what isn't.
We're not gonna sell your email to some random mailing list or spam you with stuff you didn't ask for. Here's what we actually do:
Yeah, we use cookies – not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. These little files help our website remember you and work better. We use them for basic analytics through services like Google Analytics to see which pages get the most love and where folks are coming from.
You can disable cookies in your browser if they bug you, though some parts of the site might not work as smoothly. Most browsers let you control this pretty easily in their settings.
We're pretty protective of your info. We don't just hand it out to anyone. But there are a few situations where we might need to share:
We'll never sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. That's just not our style.
We take reasonable precautions to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. Our systems use encryption, secure servers, and access controls. That said, no system is 100% bulletproof – the internet being what it is – but we're doing everything we reasonably can to keep your data safe.
Since we're based in Toronto, we follow Canadian privacy laws including PIPEDA. Here's what that means for you:
To exercise any of these rights, just shoot us an email at studio@shadowflarex.info or give us a call.
We don't keep your information longer than we need to. For active project inquiries and clients, we'll maintain records throughout the project and typically for about 7 years afterward (standard practice for architectural firms due to liability and regulatory requirements).
If you've just made a general inquiry and decided not to move forward, we'll usually keep that for about 2 years in case you change your mind. After that, it's gone unless you've specifically asked to stay on our mailing list.
Our site might link to other websites – suppliers, inspiration galleries, or partner organizations. Once you click through to another site, this privacy policy doesn't apply anymore. We'd recommend checking out their policies too, though we can't control what they do.
Privacy laws and best practices evolve, and so might our processes. If we make any significant changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and try to notify active clients directly. For everyone else, checking back here occasionally isn't a bad idea.
If something here doesn't make sense or you've got questions about how we handle your information, don't hesitate to reach out. We're real people and we're happy to talk through any concerns you might have.
